 Hybrid Buses

At the 2012 Rio+20 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Mayor of Curitiba presented Hibridus, an electric and biodiesel hybrid bus. Shortly thereafter, in September sixty 85 passenger hybrid vehicles joined the city’s public transportation fleet as part of its Integrated Transportation Network. The new technology is both quiet, and reduces polluting gas emissions 90%, in comparison to conventional buses. This has not only improved improved climate mitigation, but also air quality, livelihoods and the city's green economy.
