UN-Habitat and ICLEI are accelerating urban low emission development and climate resilience in more than 60 cities worldwide using a multilevel governance approach to urban climate action. Through Urban-LEDS, cities develop Low Emissions Development Strategies and work together to implement their plans and develop pilot projects and finance models for LEDS implementation. Urban-LEDS strengthens cooperation and information sharing across national and local governments, positioning all levels of government to advance, track and deliver on global climate and sustainability goals.

This objective is aligned with the implementation of the Paris Agreement under the UNFCCC.
